Opening of the Academic Year 2026

Staff, Parents/Guardians and all Stakeholders, greetings from Lacor Seminary! Following the Uganda government’s adjustment especially in the Secondary Schools’ Education calendar from 2/02/2026 to 10/02/2026, we announce that our students/seminarians will report for term one on Monday 9/02/2026 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Parents and/or Guardians are reminded about commitment to their financial obligations. Seminarians are to come along with recommendation letters from their Parish Priests regarding how they have spent their holidays.

Diamond Jubilee and Archdiocesan Appointments

On Sunday the 11th January, 2026, on the feast of the Baptism of Our Lord Jesus Christ, at St. Joseph’s Cathedral Gulu, the Archbishop of Gulu, Most Rev. Raphael p’Mony Wokorach, mccj, launched the Celebration of the Diamond Jubilee (75 years) of the erection of Archdiocese of Gulu that will climax on 19th March 2027. The Rector of Sacred Heart Seminary, Msgr. Martin Agwee, who is also Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Gulu will chair the organizing committee for the Diamond Jubilee. We wish success to Msgr. Martin Agwee

At the same function, His Grace appointed, among many other appointees, Rev. Fr. Raymonds Atube, Vice Rector of Sacred Heart Seminary Lacor, as Assistant Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Gulu effective 13th February 2026. He retains his office as Vice Rector. Congratulations Fr. Ray.

Launching of The Technology Upgrade Phase 1

On this Day of 22nd November 2023, Sacred Heart Seminary Lacor finally gets connected to Hybrid Fiber Wifi Internet Connections and online classroom learning Technology after 86 years since its inception.

This Technology is going to equip both learners and teachers with very easy access to online research and classroom discussions in-line with the Ministry of Education and Sports New Curriculum System.
